Calas, Portos and ilas of Mallorca

San Jordi is a quiet, little resort town with an unrolly, protected anchorage and a great dinghy dock. It's difficult to pull our new super dinghy up on beaches, as it it much heavier than the Zodiac, so dinghy docks have become quite the necessity. We decided to stay here for a week and wait for our mate Dave to come and visit. So we went ashore to resupply, get rid of our rubbish and have a couple of long walks. Tried out the drone from the boat for the first time. Very nerve-racking trying to get it back on board without crashing into stuff. Even on a boat at anchor in a flat calm sea, one tiny mistake and the drone is in the drink and destroyed. You can see the anchor just below the boat near the end of the clip which I find amazing every time coming from the murky waters of the UK. Got some good still piccies of the boat, San Jordi and the dinghy dock from the drone. Getting to and from the shore is now a really easy, fast and dry task with our new dinghy. This is me getting u...

Karen, Sue and Mandy too

Karen and Sue arrived and we all went shopping. Keeping the boat supplied with food and drink is a big job but with four people is was very easy. Especially as we have our super trolleys. I love my trolley. In this photo I have 4 trays of lager, 2 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of vermouth.  Then back to the boat to let the fun begin. Nice meal out, some beautiful sunsets, lovely home cooked food, a bit of sunbathing, a few drinks and no one fell in (Nearly).  And of course the obligatory game of hearts. Dinghy dock in Palmanova, dinghy soup. The girls brought out my new tethered diving kit so I can clean my hull. Mandy did a great job of filming the test and propeller/prop shaft inspection. She also got a great clip of the "upturned" hull. It looks like the boat bas capsized in the mist and water is running over the hull but it's air. And again our lovely guests have to leave with a few more tears from Mandy. The anchorage where we spent our last night with the ladies, ...

Buzzing around the Balearics

We left Torrevieja to head up to Denia overnight, 80 miles. Mandy had food poisoning so spent the 16 hours on the bed leaving me to stay awake all night. I was a little tired when arrived in Denia marina. We came to Denia to see an old school friend, Pete and his wife Alison. Pete and me lost our sailing virginity together when we were 17 on a cold, windy, winters day in Crosby marina. We got in the enterprise and flew across the lake and capsized while trying to turn. How can you go so fast without an engine? That was it, I was hooked. We had a lovely night out in Denia with Pete and Alison. The next day, while Mandy was working, I spent the day with Pete. We travelled around Denia getting spares for my boat in his car, Many thanks Pete. Then went back to his enormous campervan for a look around. Headroom all the way along for a 6ft 5inch person. Lovely van. Great to catch up and we'll be back. Onwards to Mallorca to pick up my evil sister in law. We stopped off on the north coast...
